Managing translations in PIM systems
Centralised data management with PIM systems
Frequently used as a complement to Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP systems), Product Information Management Systems (PIM systems) permit enterprises with a wide range of different products to store their data in a central place and from there to distribute it to further systems (e.g. Content Management Systems). As such, PIM systems streamline a company's product data management, ensuring that all data is current and complete, while also regulating access to this data by administering rights.
Product data and its translation
Against a backdrop of global competition and growing customer demand for product information, the translation of product data has proven increasingly important. By connecting a PIM system to our Translation Management System (TMS), 24translate can ensure that the translation of product data such as packing information, operating instructions and marketing texts are always up to date and can be easily maintained and administered from a centralised location. This is of particular importance if other company systems, such as CMS, web shops or apps are linked to this system.
Advantages: How does a PIM connection work?
Via an interface, clients can transfer as many texts as they wish directly from the PIM system to 24translate with the click of a mouse. As soon as their translations are finished, clients can import them back into their system. This eliminates tiresome copy and paste operations, and constantly having to worry about text formatting.
Another key advantage is that our system recognises smaller changes to text automatically! Thus, only the changed segments are translated and not the entire text, reducing unnecessary extra costs.
